Well, we’re here again to share some useful links to help you create a design concept. If you haven’t seen part one yet, check it out. And in this part, we’ll tell you about the different font libraries.

The font is one of the basic and most important elements of visual communication in graphic design and on websites. When you look at recent design projects on Behance, for example, you can see that typography has become much more progressive. There have been lots of experiments with grids, different fonts and typographic symbols. There aren’t many free fonts in this selection, you have to pay for fonts — and that’s okay. These type companies handle the majority of work for us, which everyone receives for quite a bit of money. Prices may change, check the links for current prices.

Let’s see what we can use today:

1. Pangram Pangram Foundry

Pangram Pangram Foundry provides free access to quality fonts to everyone for personal use. Licenses can be purchased for commercial projects. All fonts are $30.

2. Fontfabric

Here we would like to recommend INTRO or BEBAS fonts, they are some of our favourite ones. The fonts range in price from $9 to $47. There are free fonts or you can find interesting fonts on sale. They can also adapt any of the existing fonts or design a whole new one from scratch for brands.

3. Good Type Foundry

It is an independent type foundry offering retail and custom typefaces. There is desktop license and website license to use their fonts. The desktop license is based on the number of users that are using the typefaces. The web license is a one time purchase based on the estimated number of page views on the website that are using the files. Just choose the most suitable option for your project.

4. Parachut

There are plenty of experiments with fonts. You can download and install free trial fonts to sample. The trial font package includes a limited number of weights and glyphs. If you like the font and it’s perfect for your project, you can pay once to get a license to use it in other font libraries.

5. GrilliType

Offers original retail and custom fonts with a modern aesthetic in the Swiss traditions. Download their sample font library to try the fonts before you buy. Separate styles of a single font cost $75, a complete package of a single font is much more expensive at $945.

6. TypeType

Large collection of 75+ families, free trials, creating fonts from scratch, customization for projects.

7. Dinamo

There are offers for students — Student Discounts and Student Font Packs. The price is more than reasonable for such unique fonts.

8. Playtype

Using a font from Playtype also requires a license. A particular style of one font costs €50, if you want to choose a complete collection, you have to pay €300, which is a 50 percent discounted amount.

9. Mass-Driver

You can use their fonts for free in student papers or on social media, as long as you mention Mass-Driver and the name of the font. By far one of the most stunning fonts in our opinion is MD Nichrome, which references the typography of paperback science fiction books of the last century.

10. Special Social Fonts

Finally, as a dessert, here’s our personal favorite part of the article — we really like it when a font is not just a font, but a strong statement on some socially important topic. Usually such fonts are free to use to get more attention to an issue. A prime example is the Ugly Gerry font. It is a free font named after gerrymandering, the process that made such strange shapes of real U.S. congressional districts possible. A month after Ugly Gerry was launched in North Carolina, it was decided to make fair maps.

If you want more fonts, use these links — MyFonts, FutureFonts and FontsArena. To rent some fonts, use — Fontstand.

As always, explore the links we have mentioned in this part. Feel free to share your experiences and suggest your own links in the comments. We’ll be back soon with part three — stay tuned!
